Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how HeyDo (“HeyDo,” “we,” or “us”) handles information when you use the HeyDo iOS app and related services, including our website at heydo.app.

HeyDo is a free reminder and coordination service. It helps people send reminders, keep related details together, and see when reminders have been acknowledged or completed. This policy describes the kinds of information the product may process to provide those features.

Information we may process

Account information

When you create or use a HeyDo account, we may process:

• Email address
• First and last name
• Username
• Profile photo, if you choose to add one

HeyDo does not require a phone number for current product functionality.

App content

To provide reminders and collaboration features, HeyDo may process content you create or receive, including:

• Reminders and reminder details
• Scheduled reminder information
• Checklist items
• Comments and discussion
• Reactions
• Photos
• Documents
• Links
• Reminder participant information

Connection information

HeyDo may process information needed to manage relationships between users, including:

• Connection requests
• Accepted connections
• Participants in group reminders

Technical and service information

To operate the service, HeyDo may process:

• Device identifiers or tokens needed to deliver push notifications
• App or service diagnostics where needed to understand reliability issues
• Security and operational information used to help protect accounts and the service

What public profiles show

Other users may be able to view limited public profile information associated with a username, such as display name and profile photo when available.

Public profiles do not expose:

• Email address
• Phone number
• Location

HeyDo does not collect location for current product functionality.

How we use information

We use information to:

• Provide reminders and collaboration features
• Deliver notifications
• Maintain account security and service integrity
• Improve reliability and fix issues
• Support abuse prevention and trust & safety efforts
• Provide customer support

HeyDo does not sell personal information for advertising.

Service providers and infrastructure

HeyDo relies on cloud infrastructure to run the product. Depending on the feature, this may include services used for:

• Authentication (Firebase Authentication)
• App data storage (Cloud Firestore)
• File storage for photos and documents (Firebase Storage)
• Backend processing and automation (Cloud Functions / related cloud infrastructure)
• Push notifications (such as Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service)

These providers process information on our behalf to operate HeyDo. Their own terms and privacy practices may also apply to the infrastructure they provide.

Information may be processed in the regions where our service providers operate. We do not claim that all data is stored exclusively in one country.

Usernames

HeyDo usernames are permanently reserved and are not reassigned, including after an account is deleted or a username is changed. This helps preserve identity integrity and reduce impersonation or confusion.

Data retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain security and integrity, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and support legitimate operational needs.

Retention can vary by data type. For example, account information and active reminder content are generally kept while your account is active. Some security logs, backups, operational records, or permanently reserved username records may be retained for a limited additional period where needed for integrity, recovery, abuse prevention, or legal compliance. We do not claim a single fixed retention period for every category of information.

Account deletion

You can delete your account from Settings in the HeyDo app. When an account is deleted, account-related information is deleted, anonymized, or retained as necessary depending on the type of data and legitimate operational or security requirements.

Some shared historical context may remain where needed for other participants—for example, reminder history another person still needs—or for security and identity integrity, including permanently reserved usernames and deleted-user placeholders in shared content.

Account deletion does not guarantee that every copy of information is removed instantly from every system. Backups, logs, and similar operational copies may take additional time to expire where applicable.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information processed through HeyDo. However, no internet, cloud, storage, or communications system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HeyDo is not responsible for unauthorized access, cyberattacks, service interruptions, data loss, or other security incidents beyond our reasonable control. Nothing in this section excludes or limits any responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Children

HeyDo is not intended for children under 13. You must be at least 13 years old to create or use a HeyDo account, or meet any higher minimum age required by applicable law in your location.

HeyDo does not currently ask users to provide their date of birth and does not independently verify age. If we learn that an account belongs to a child who is not legally permitted to use the Service, we may take appropriate steps, including restricting or deleting the account and associated personal information as required by applicable law.

International processing

If you use HeyDo from outside the regions where our infrastructure operates, your information may be processed in other countries. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your own.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the app or on this website. Continued use of HeyDo after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
